A.C.T to get closer to God:

So how can you get closer to experiencing a deeper relationship with God? Well you do have to take action, you have to ACT. The bible teaches us in James 4:8 that if we draw closer to God and he will draw closer to you. Also if we are to worship God then our ACTIONs must be of those who worship God in spirit and in truth.

So what do we need to act upon? – it is the Word of God – which has the power to save your soul and transform your life.

How then can we be saved? – like the bible says in Romans 10:9 “believe on the Lord Jesus and confess with your mouth and you shall be saved”. You have to take some action – you have to A.C.T

A – Accept that you are a sinner – We are all born in sin. From the moment Adam disobeyed God and sin came into the world, sin had dominion over us. We have to accept, like the bible says in Romans 3:23, “for All have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God …”  There is none good only God. We cannot hide anything from God, He only wants us to accept who we are before Him.

C - Confess your sins before God. We have to acknowledge by confessing that we have come short of the expectation that God has for us – we have messed up and we need a saviour. This confession is good for the soul and brings us to a place of dependence on God and not ourselves. This is where and how God ACTS on your behalf.

T - Talk to God about your situation. Praying (talking to God) in faith can move mountains. God desires to hear from us – the bible teaches us in Isaiah 1:18,  “Come now, let us reason together …, though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow …”. You can talk to God at any time you don’t have to login or remember a password – remember, when we move closer to God he moves closer to us.

So why not take the action to get closer to God?

Why not read the Good Book again – the Word of God, the Bible and ACT upon what God has said.

At the Pilgrim Church we would encourage you in your walk with God through fellowship with others, prayer, bible study and ministry.

We provide a place of prayer, a place of learning and a place of praise.
