JOIN US for a Weekend of Unity, Culture, and Commemoration at the

Nottingham Windrush Celebrations, Friday 21st-23rd June, 2024.

Honour the past, celebrate the present, and embrace the future.

We’ve programmed an array of engaging events for all ages, highlighting the enduring legacy

and resilience of the Windrush Generation. Whether you're a member of the Caribbean

community, a history enthusiast, or simply looking to experience the vibrant culture of

Nottingham - this weekend offers something for everyone!

Highlights:

Windrush Civic Service: Friday 21st June at the Nottingham Council House, 10.30am.

- A warm welcome from local dignitaries and community leaders to honour pioneers of the

Windrush generation with poetry, music, and the raising of the Windrush Flag, atop the Council House.

‘Standing on their Shoulders’

Windrush Boat Cruise: Friday 21st June on the River Trent, embarking 2pm from the Princess

River Cruise pick up point.

- Experience a scenic boat cruise with stunning views, live entertainment and Windrush

storytelling as we enjoy each other’s company.

Windrush Gala Dinner: Saturday 22nd June, Bestwood Lodge Country Park, 5.30pm-late. This

ticketed black-tie event is an evening of style, entertainment, exquisite cuisine, live music, and

celebration. Join us as we pay tribute to the achievements and cultural richness of the

Windrush generation.

Windrush Gospel Unity Service & Concert: Sunday 23rd June at Bink’s Yard, 2.30pm.

- Fantastic open-air entertainment complex for a special Windrush Gospel service, promoting

unity and joy amongst our diverse communities, with a stunning uplifting gospel service

reflecting traditional and contemporary gospel.

Windrush Exhibition: Explore the vibrant history and personal stories of the Windrush

Generation through a captivating front room exhibition, showcasing art, artefacts, and archival

materials. Location to be confirmed.
