Statement on the Appointment of Reverend Clive Foster MBE as Windrush Commissioner
On behalf of Pilgrim Church, I am proud to announce that Reverend Clive Foster MBE, our Senior Minister, has been appointed as the Windrush Commissioner by the Home Secretary, the Right Honourable Yvette Cooper.
This landmark appointment is not only a personal honour for Reverend Foster, but a powerful testament to the bold and visionary leadership and to the enduring mission of Pilgrim Church — to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God as we serve our communities.
Reverend Foster becomes the first to hold this vital national role, created to ensure that the voices, experiences, and dignity of the Windrush Generation and their descendants are not only heard, but respected, valued, and acted upon at the highest levels of government.
His appointment affirms Pilgrim Church’s long-standing commitment to justice, advocacy, and community empowerment. It recognises our collective work — as a faith community — to uplift those who have been wronged, and to honour the legacy of the Windrush Generation whose contribution helped to build modern Britain.
We commit that under the continued leadership of the Pilgrim Church we will remain at the forefront of seeking justice for the Windrush Generation and celebrating their indelible legacy. This moment calls us not to rest, but to rise — with renewed purpose, deeper resolve, and unshakable faith.

We have a dynamic Sunday School that celebrates special Sundays such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Harvest, Easter and Christmas. Our vibrant and energetic Youth Department, organise and plan special services each month which are fun and thought provoking. We have Men and Women’s teams that cater for the spiritual and social needs of these groups.
