Reverend Mark Stewart

Local Superintendent

Rev. Mark Stewart leads the Pilgrim Church in Nottingham with visionary faith and Spirit-led teaching. As the main Sunday service minister, he brings powerful, practical preaching that encourages, equips, and uplifts. With a deep pastoral heart and a strong strategic mind, he helps guide the church’s mission both locally and across the UK.

  • Rev. Mark Stewart serves as the Local Superintendent of Pilgrim Church Nottingham, providing spiritual oversight, visionary leadership and pastoral care to the church.

    A dynamic and engaging preacher, Rev. Mark is known for his Spirit-led ministry and compassionate pastoral heart. He holds a Master’s Degree in Systematic Theology and Pastoral Care, grounding his leadership in strong biblical scholarship and practical shepherding.

    His ministry has included involvement in church planting and development across the UK, helping to establish congregations and small groups that foster discipleship and authentic Christian fellowship.

    As Chair of Trustees for the Pilgrim Church Charitable Trust, he works closely with the ministerial team and Church Council to provide strategic direction and governance. He is particularly passionate about mentoring young people and nurturing unity within the church community.

    Alongside his pastoral calling, Rev. Mark has had a distinguished professional career as a Project Manager for global organisations, overseeing complex international projects across technology, finance and operational resilience.

    Supported faithfully by his wife and blessed with four daughters, Rev. Mark is committed to building a Christ-centred church that impacts Nottingham and beyond.

Reverend Canon Christian Weaver Ma, CBE

National Superintendent

National Superintendent and founding leader of Pilgrim Church, Rev Weaver has served with visionary faith, a passion for justice, and a lifelong heart for people.

  • Rev. Canon Christian Weaver is the spiritual leader and National Superintendent of the Pilgrim Church in the United Kingdom. Born in Antigua, he answered a divine call to ministry in 1960 and became pioneer pastor of the Pilgrim Church in Nottingham in 1963.

    Under his leadership, the church has grown both spiritually and socially, with a strong emphasis on community justice, education and equality. He pioneered Saturday Schools in Nottingham to address underachievement among young people and established luncheon clubs for senior citizens. He also mobilised and mentored young Black men into professional and leadership roles both inside and outside the church.

    Rev. Weaver holds a Master’s Degree in Sociology and a professional qualification in Social Work, becoming the first Black person in Nottingham to hold such a qualification. His career included serving as Lead Officer for Nottingham County Council on Equal Opportunities and Race Equality, more than 20 years as a Magistrate on the Nottingham City bench, and teaching in further education and adult learning institutions. He also served as Religious Advisor for Central Television.

    Pilgrim Church hosted Reverend Jesse Jackson on two occasions under his leadership, marking significant moments in the church’s commitment to civil rights and social justice.

    In recognition of his service, Rev. Weaver was awarded an MBE in 1990 and later a CBE in 2002. In 2009, he was made a Canon of Southwell Minster. He has consistently stated that these honours are shared with his wife Daisy, family and community.

    Married since 1962, Rev. Weaver and his wife Daisy have four children and have faithfully served together in ministry for decades.

    Fun fact: Rev. Weaver has a love for reciting poetry.

Reverend Rose Burrell

Deputy National Superintendant

Rev Rose Burrell is Deputy National Superintendent at Pilgrim Church, known for her prophetic ministry, healing gift, and dedicated service in both pastoral and administrative leadership.

  • Rev. Rose Burrell serves as Deputy National Superintendent of the Pilgrim Church. She has faithfully served the church for over two decades and is widely recognised for her prophetic ministry and spiritual leadership.

    Rev. Rose carries a strong calling as a spiritual “watchman” for the church, bringing prophetic insight, discernment and prayerful oversight. She has been used powerfully in bringing healing and spiritual direction within the life of the church.

    She has served on the national ministerial team, Church Council and Board of Trustees for more than 15 years, supporting the National Superintendent in both pastoral and administrative responsibilities. She also holds the role of National Treasurer, providing financial oversight and advisory support to church departments.

    Rev. Rose has coordinated catering and major church events, leading numerous gatherings and social occasions that strengthen fellowship and unity within the church community.

    Her ministry combines spiritual depth with practical leadership and faithful service.

    Fun fact: Rev. Rose is an excellent cake baker and enjoys preparing cakes for special occasions.

Reverend Andrew Miller

Senior Pastor

Rev Andrew Miller is a Senior Pastor at Pilgrim Church, known for his deep commitment to youth ministry, evangelism, and community leadership across Nottingham and beyond.

  • Rev. Andrew Miller serves as Senior Pastor at Pilgrim Church, supporting the Local Superintendent and the wider ministry of the church.

    He brings extensive administrative and analytical expertise developed through years of professional and church leadership roles. His ministry has been particularly focused on youth development, having served for many years within the Youth Department as both leader and support officer.

    Rev. Miller has organised youth trips at home and abroad, guiding young people in their spiritual and social development. He continues to play an active role in nurturing the next generation within the church.

    He is involved in community engagement initiatives including The Meadows Christian Partnership Group and the Hope Nottingham Project.

    Rev. Miller has also contributed significantly to gospel music ministry, serving as choir director for the Chariots of Joy Gospel Choir and participating as both lead and backing vocalist within church choirs.

    His ministry includes evangelism, prayer leadership and mid-week prayer gatherings. He holds a Diploma in Theology from Selly Oak College, Birmingham.

Reverand Clive Foster

Windrush Commissioner & Senior Minister

Rev Clive Foster is a Senior Pastor at Pilgrim Church, known for his administrative leadership, social impact work, and decades of service in Sunday School development and community engagement

  • In June 2025, Reverend Clive Foster MBE, Senior Minister at Pilgrim Church Nottingham, was appointed by the Home Secretary as the United Kingdom’s first Windrush Commissioner. This newly established three-year role provides independent oversight of the Government’s response to the Home Office Windrush Scandal, ensuring that the voices of victims remain central to justice, reform and accountability.

    Rev. Foster is the founder of the Nottingham Windrush Support Forum and previously served as Vice Chair of the Windrush National Organisation. His work has long focused on advancing equality, social justice and community empowerment, particularly in relation to racial inequality and public policy reform.

    His professional background spans community leadership, higher education, public service and business. At Nottingham Trent University, he served as Multi-Faith Manager and Executive Dean for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, contributing to institutional leadership around inclusion and faith engagement.

    As a former Trustee of Citizens UK, he helped lead a major research initiative on hate crime which contributed to Nottingham becoming the first UK city to recognise misogyny as a hate crime. For this work, he received the Upstanding Organisation Award at the No2Hate National Awards in 2018. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the National Justice Museum and regularly contributes to national discussions on race, faith and community life through public engagement and media commentary.

    In recognition of his public service and advocacy work, Rev. Foster was awarded an MBE in the 2023 New Year Honours List.

    As Windrush Commissioner, Rev. Foster serves as an independent public appointee committed to standing alongside those affected by the Windrush Scandal. His role is to act as a trusted and constructive voice for victims and their families — ensuring their experiences are heard and that meaningful action is taken to address the injustices they have endured. He is tasked with challenging systems where necessary, embedding cultural change and ensuring the lessons of the scandal shape future government practice.

    Since his appointment, he has embarked on a nationwide Listening Tour across Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Birmingham, Leicester, London and Nottingham, meeting hundreds of individuals in churches, community halls, universities and museums. His recommendations have already led to reforms within the Windrush Compensation Scheme, including:

    • Prioritising claims for individuals aged 75+
    • Compensation for pension losses and immigration fees
    • Advance compensation payments of up to 75% while cases are reviewed
    • Adjustments for wage inflation and long-term unemployment

    His ongoing priorities include urgent reform of the Compensation Scheme, improved survivor support, securing legal status for everyone entitled both in the UK and overseas, and preventing future injustices through structural reform.

    Alongside his national responsibilities, Rev. Foster continues to serve faithfully within Pilgrim Church, contributing to pastoral ministry, leadership and community engagement.

Minister Jacqueline Bowen

Senior Pastor

A thoughtful preacher and Sunday School teacher, Minister Jacqueline supports the Pilgrim Church ministry team and leads the Food Bank outreach project with care and dedication

  • Minister Jacqueline Bowen plays a significant role in supporting the ministerial team at Pilgrim Church. She is recognised as a thoughtful and reflective preacher, bringing clarity and insight to the Word of God through her teaching and ministry.

    Her service within the church has included membership of the Sunday School Committee, and she currently serves as a Sunday School teacher, nurturing and guiding young people in their spiritual development. She is passionate about ensuring that biblical teaching is accessible, engaging and relevant to all generations.

    Minister Jacqueline also leads the Pilgrim Church Food Bank Project, overseeing practical outreach and support for individuals and families in need. Through this work, she helps to embody the church’s commitment to compassion, service and community care.

    Her ministry reflects both faithfulness and action, combining teaching, leadership and hands-on service.

Minister Brenton Dinham

Minister

Minister Brenton Dinham brings a passion for youth development and community engagement to his ministry at Pilgrim Church. With a background in Business Management and a heart for empowering young people, he plays an active role in organising youth conventions and supporting church initiatives both locally and internationally.

  • Born in Hanover, Jamaica, Minister Brenton Dinham grew up within the Church of God as part of a family of five children. His early foundation in faith continues to shape both his ministry and his approach to leadership today.

    He attended Bethlehem Teachers College in rural St. Elizabeth, where he was awarded an academic scholarship to continue his studies in Nottingham. He later graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree in Business Management from Nottingham Trent University and currently works within the hospitality industry, bringing organisational and professional insight into his ministry role.

    Minister Brenton is particularly passionate about youth work and plays a key role in organising the church’s annual youth conventions. He is committed to creating environments where young people are encouraged, equipped and inspired to grow in confidence and faith.

    He is community-oriented and supports initiatives both locally and internationally, reflecting a heart for service that extends beyond the church walls.

    He lives by the motto:
    “Seize Today.”

Minister Kenneth Harris

Minister

Born in Nottingham and raised in Carlton, Minister Kenneth Harris has served for many years in both public service and ministry. With faith at the centre of his life, he is committed to supporting the Pilgrim Church community through care, encouragement and active service.

  • Born in Nottingham in 1959 and raised in Carlton, Minister Kenneth Harris has always valued community, service and faith. He attended Frank Wheldon Comprehensive School and later studied at Basford Hall College, gaining a qualification in Community and Social Care.

    Kenneth spent 27 years working within the National Health Service at Queen’s Medical Centre, dedicating much of his professional life to supporting others through healthcare and public service.

    Faith has been central throughout his life and has helped shape his pathway into ministry. He now serves as a minister at Pilgrim Church, Queens Walk, The Meadows, bringing a steady commitment to care, support and Christian service.

    Outside of work and ministry, Kenneth values an active lifestyle and enjoys running and cycling, supporting both physical wellbeing and social connection.
