About Us

The Pilgrim Church is a vibrant, multi-generational church rooted in the heart of Nottingham.
We’re a diverse family of believers who come together to worship, grow, and serve — committed to justice, community, and spiritual transformation. Whether you’re exploring faith or looking for a place to belong, we’re glad you’ve found us.

Pilgrim began in the 1960s when Rev. Christian Weaver, a young Antiguan pastor, felt called to plant a church in Nottingham. Many of our founding members were part of the Windrush Generation, bringing faith, resilience, and a heart for community that still shapes us today.

In those early years, we launched Saturday schools, youth programs, and lunch clubs, meeting spiritual and practical needs with open hands and hearts.

We are very proud to say that he is still a part of our team today!

Where We Began.

Faith in Action.

We believe faith should be lived out. That’s why we:

  • Advocate for Windrush justice

  • Empower youth through anti-knife crime projects

  • Feed families at Christmas and support local food banks

  • Campaign for equity through Nottingham Citizens.
