Pilgrim Church Choir

Gospel Music and the music ministry has always been a central factor to the life of the Pilgrim Church. Over the years the Pilgrim Church has always had a church choir to minister the gospel of God through song.

The Pilgrim Church Choir is a very important ‘landmark’ in the life of the church. Over the years many people have been blessed by the ministry of the church choir. Many people have come and gone but the church choir remains a deep spiritual focal point during worship at the church. Typically on a Sunday the church choir will march into the service to some rousing hymn or chorus that the whole congregation can enjoy.

During the service the church choir will give a rendition just before the main speaker – the preaching of the Word of God in the morning.

The significance of this cannot be understated. The ministry of the choir at this time is to prepare the hearts and mind of the congregation to be receptive to the word of God – a great moving hymn or stirring choral hymn cannot fail to move the congregation.

Who could ignore the vibrant, stirring and resounding chimes of the church organ which sets the tone and moves the heart to receive the Word of God.

No choir can excel without an excellent choir director - in Daisy Weaver the Pilgrim Church was blessed to have a gifted and dedicated organist who has given her life to the profession of leading worship through the choir ministry. Whether piano, keyboard, pipe organ or electronic organ Mrs Weaver gave a virtuoso performance week after week in directing the Pilgrim Church choir. She mastered the art of bringing the melodious tones of the organ to the heart of the congregation, covering music from the 16th century or 21st century. We were blessed to have a tremendous organist in Daisy Weaver who has served the church for many years in this ministry as the Pilgrim Church Choir Director and organist. Daisy Weaver received national recognition for her work, service and dedication in this labour of love. 

The Pilgrim Church continues to minister the gospel in song with Rev Mark Stewart and Minister Robert Stutchbury.
